Guide's Tip
From the benchWith water temps at 46.9°F, fish are metabolically slow — get your nymphs down to the fish rather than expecting them to move far. Use a longer indicator setup with split shot to keep flies in the strike zone for the full length of the drift, especially in runs 3-6 feet deep. During the fog burn-off window (11 AM onward), watch for BWO activity in the slower glides and be ready to switch to a dry fly quickly — the clear water means fish will be looking up when bugs are on the surface.
