Flow out of Palisades Dam is around 14200 cfs, about the same at Heise, and 8400 cfs at Lorenzo.  Flow this strong will place most trout in slower waters such as near banks, eddies, and around seams.   That big brown trout caught last week is included in this behavior. Certainly, the river hosts more browns of this size! Stoneflies are still around along the upper river. PMDs and yellow sallies are around riffles everywhere and the best time to encounter fish rising for them is between mid-morning and  midafternoon.  Wading remains dangerous so boating is the safest and most effective way to fish.  Fish woolly bugger, San Juan worm, rubber leg, and streamer patterns and double nymph rigs deep throughout the river.  Some green drakes are around. Caddis activity is best during late afternoon hours.
